I have a issue with to enter the bow contest this year or not. First off I'm getting a knee replacement on September 7th, I won't be able to hunt for sure in September and most of October. I'm not sure if I'll be able to climb my stands come November, I know I'll be able to sit in a blind, I don't want to burden a team with me not participating by being on it and not competing! What's your thought's? Trying to make up my mind to enter or not, only need a brief encounter to get the blood flowing!

I am probably not the best source for info. In fact, I have never been on a team before but plan to sign up this year. Sounds to me like you want to, and should. Like you said, only takes a few seconds a season to make it great? Just my 2 cents!!

Sign up, Rocky. The contest is about camaraderie and getting to know other guys and girls on the forums. I know I've entered the last three years and only contributed points last year. I can't wait to enter again this year.

Sign up. It isn't a serious competition, IMO. If taken seriously it shouldn't be. You can also live through your team a little bit while recovering. If you don't think you can hunt at all, I would say wait to sign up the following year. If you sign up and that turns out to be the case no one should have a problem with that.

All for fun. Now if they start playing for new trucks and bows. I might change my tune. HA.

Just do what you feel like doing.

I used to participate hard, was team captain for a few years, now i just join and post from time to time.

like was said. Join Up. It's about sharing the experience. Besides It seems like half the people on the team are never to be heard from. So if you plan on keeping up to date and encouraging your team. Go For It!!! I'd be honored to be put with you.
Or just pick a winner and be an honorary member. Whatever you feel good with.

Sign up, my last three years have been less than stellar for hunting due to medical issues and limited times to hunt.. I signed up each year with the thought " it is for fun". Go for it. Or we can request they put us "sick, lame and lazy people" all on one team if it makes you feel better..........Lol

Spring turkey was my first contest team sign up and I just missed adding points by about 2 inches. It's for the fun and excitement!!! I'll be joining the deer contest for sure.

Go for it. I say it every year, but it's just an online contest meant for fun. I was in the HNI contest for years without contributing points :)

    Thanks for your answers
I've been debating if I'd hurt a teams chances of winning, you guys all make it sound like it's for fun,I realize it is but I've always been a competitor at everything I do, it just sounds like I would hurt a teams chance of winning. Watch I don't shoot anything and my team loses by 5 points..LOL. I'll give it a shot.
    Thanks for your answers

It is all in fun, there were some incidents in the past I remember of accusations of cheating on the score, etc. But it's just for fun. I did not kill a deer last year and I hunted hard. It happens some time even when healthy.

What if it's your first year hunting with a bow, but you know there's a couple 8+ point bucks on your land and you'll have about 3 acres total of food plots? Would the other people on teams prefer not to have a first year noob enter? I wanted to but figure maybe I ought not until after I have a year under my belt.

It's a lot of fun. I'm as competitive as anyone and hate to lose. This contest is a blast. I've met so many people doing the various contests. I have the most fun on the "live from the stand thread". Makes me feel like I'm right there with everyone else.
    Go for it.
