Any suggestion on what might have caused this? Camera still work and takes pictures. Went to check my camera and found it shoved to the bottom of the tree with no pics on it unless they were erased. Camera was on private property(which doesn't mean much these days). I thought maybe pellet gun? Seems like they would have just taken the camera. There are bear on the property but I don't see any other marks. Was still wrapped around the tree.
Could be a bear or raccoon. Hard to believe though that there we no pictures on it if something swatted it off the tree.
pellet gun sounds right to me and the fact that there were no pictures makes me think some had to have done something to it, let us know if you figure it out
Humans are the worst offenders when it comes to hunting gear left in the woods. Plus they are the only ones who understand that there is an SD card inside that is recording photos. I have seen some really cool pix of bears and such molesting a camera out of curiosity or the scent that was left while setting it up. If you have no photos, I would guess humans unless the critter accidentally turned it off in the process of "inspecting" the unit.
definitely bear. I have 4 or 5 cameras with teeth punctures in them. if it were a pellet gun the pellets would still be stuck in it. if the bear came in from the side it would have never set the camera off.
There are ways to recover deleted pics on an SD card. Not sure exactly how but it's been talked about on here before and a quick search would probably turn it up. Does sound like a bear though but a little confused how no pics were taken.
Could have been any number of things, animals, humans, or just flying dubrey. It does seem funny that no pictures are on the SD card, but I think if it was a human they would have just taken the card.
