The itch came back when I was hanging some stands this past weekend. I'm in no hurry, though. This weather is too nice, the beer is too cold, and the fishing is too good for me to rush through the summer.

Its both a long ways away but still not that far away. If that makes sense. I know it will be here before we all know it.

I will be excited to hunt after about week 5 of the NFL schedule.

A couple of 3d shoots will serve to both distract me during the off season and practice for when the sun come up on September 1st.

I have to wait till next season due to operation on August 3rd for a knee replacement, so the waiting game is huge for me .Rehab is 6 months.

Rocky, that stinks. That being said, I am positive I will need a knee replacement or two at some time in my life. Two Acl reconstructions 20 plus years ago are starting to take a toll on my knee health. Best of luck on your surgery and recovery. I hope you get some pain relief.

I'm always ready for the season to start. I'm just glad I'm busy in the summers to make things move along!

I love hunting in the Fall. But, I'll never wish Summer away as Winter is long and cold up here. I generally don't start getting too serious with my hunting preparations until August.

Mineral sites, sprouting beans/corn, and trail cameras are all getting me ready for the season to start.

Walleye fishing and drinking beer is also taking up my time in the meantime.

Brewing/drinking beer and fishing have been occupying my time just fine but it's only 90 days until the opener here in MD!

I'm starting to get that feeling too! Only 4 months away. I checked my property after a long hiatus and there's deer tracks and sign of fawns all over. I put the camera out, freshened the mineral sites, and filled the corn feeder and I'm excited to see what's lurking.

I'm in no rush, but definitely staying on top of things more this "offseason."

I'm getting my song into the woods to check trail cameras (thanks to an offroad stroller :), doing some bow shopping, made my own mineral mix this year, and listening to Wired to Hunt podcasts to and from work for the past two weeks. I usually lose interest over the summer months, but not so much this year.

With that being said, I will FULLY enjoy summer. Seeing as in three more work days I'm off for all of it :)
