(for Adult resident hunting ) i was fine with it at $29.00 but not no more than that. i'm going to hate to see that happens with the archery stamp & muzzle loader stamp & the 2 bear stamps. can so one shade some more light?
It's perfectly fine by me. The money I spend for my hunting license, including this increase, is some my best spent money all year. For all of the many hours of enjoyment I get because of hunting, it's still a small price to pay.
so you are fine with a 49.00 plus the other stamp fee? i'm not happy with it. they pagc seem like they are trying to run even more hunter off. not every one can afford that much of a license increase. i was ok with it staying at the price that were list but increase an other 20.00 on top of those price is nuts.
That's takes my bill up to $120. I'm not excited but I'll continue to pay it to hunt. I wonder at what point the weekend warriors quit buying a licence b/c of the price?
Maybe a price hike ain't that bad of a deal after all. Thin out the herd a little. Cut down on the orange army.
MD hunter here. IF the money goes towards the DNR, keeping public lands open, preserving the herds/flocks, and the future to hunt....I'm good with it. NOW IF the $$$ goes towards someone's pocket or pet project...yes I would have issue.
I think it sucks. My job doesn't allow me time off during hunting season. So I only get to hunt Saturdays if it doesn't downpour like it normally does. Not to mention my wife hunts and I have to boys who will eventually hunt. So that's alot of money for just a few days. I think it's gonna male alot of people hunt without a license cuz the game commission can't catch everyone
Absolutely. My license will be $79, and that's OK. I don't work at McDonalds. lol This will separate the weekend warriors from the serious hunters. It's all good.
I don't know your source but those prices aren't correct. Example Pa resident is $20.70 now not $19, anterless are $6 not $5, etc.
from the pa press room site ..Game Commission Details all you guy need to do is a quick search " pa hunting license increase" and they you will see that it will increase an other $20.00 over 5 years. like i said if you read the whole first post i was find with the $29.00 + $20.00 + $10.00 doe tag but if they are adding more $$ on top of that over the next 5 year.

It's probably to make up for the lack of non-resident hunters. I know of so many western Ohio hunters who used to cross into PA to hunt the mountains but because of how poorly managed some WMUs are, they've stopped going. I also think the doe allocations have pushed many non-residents away too. It's hard to manage the herd in an area that's mostly made up of cabins and lodges owned/hunted mostly by non-resident hunters when they can't even get doe tags.
