great article... I have to agree.. I don't eat breakfast before I get in the tree.... otherwise I will be down and up against a tree w/in 30 min of first light.
Ive learned that a whole pot of coffee and 3 gas station burritos does not treat a man well once in the stand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I always eat breakfast before I hunt. By the time I wake up and I'm in a tree, 90 plus minutes as passed. Eat early and drink coffee. By the time I hit my hunting spot it is time to use the bathroom and I don't have to worry about that crap anymore.
Raw dough and a pop? Was this meant to be for comedic relief or an actual "tip"? Haha! I think staying away from eating raw dough and pop, especially together, is common sense. I just grab an apple, banana, or an oatmeal crunch bar thingy.
Protein bars and an Energy drink is all the breakfast ya need to stay awake and alert while waiting on your prey.
I never eat before a morning hunt and brush my teeth with baking soda and rinse with diluted Hydrogen Peroxide, if you wash your clothes with DDW and use a field spray you are wasting your money if you don't take care of that stinky morning breath. I was turkey hunting this year and had been chopping up some fresh garlic the night before for the top of a leg of lamb roast. I even with washing my hands ten times I could still smell it the next morning... another thing to add to my don't eat the night before a hunt list!
Either a frozen meal or an egg mcmuffin as I drive to my spot. I never skip breakfast. Blessings...........Pastorjim
I never care to eat in the morning. When I get up at 4:30 am to get on stand, eating is the last thing on my mind. I will eat mid-day. Even during the work week, I never eat when I get up. Maybe something 3 or 4 hours later.
I have found as I get older that in the fall and winter if I am going to be outside in the cool temps I have to eat before I head out or I will be cold, guess it is like putting wood in the stove.
That was a great article. I don't so much have issues with the breakfast biscuit I eat in the morning. It's the Great Wall all you can eat Chinese buffet from the night before that sends me down the tree to look for a spot.
