I just scored a real nice 25 acre piece of land to hunt. My buddy I work with just bought the woods in the middle of the photo surrounded by corn fields and farms. Some houses around but it's a solid 25 acre lot with a stream on the one edge. Farmers said there is deer all over. Going scouting and camera deploying on Sunday. Here is a photo. It's the woods in the middle. Also here is a pic from like 2 weeks ago when he pulled into the property. He doesn't hunt and will be building a house and I'm the only one who can hunt it.
Good luck. Having property to hunt is key, unfortunately in my case at least having the land isn't enough.
I am the property manager for 400 acres and rights for 600 touching it yet each year I am lucky to see a "shooter"
I also have a 600 acre dairy farm that I hunt and a real nice 400 acre block behind my brothers house that is farm land. I have yet to see a "monster" but I don't hold back for monsters.
This is off my brothers land. It's like Vietnam runways. Didn't see a single buck though in this area last year. But last year was the first year we touched it and didn't scout it. Going run a bunch of trail cameras this year.
We live in the most populated **it hole ever. Too many people, not enough land, and its just getting worse!
Of the 1000 acre block I have (600 fields) there is me and two other guys... But there is a 42 acre block of golden rod that ppl own and it is pushed all gun season
