My hunting arrows have Onestringer wraps and I want to remove the fletch without tearing or removing the wrap as well, how can I do it, is there something I can do to soften or dissolve the Saunders NPV Arrow Mate Cement, to limit damage? Any help will be much appreciated.
You will have to remove the wrap as well. I like to use the bohning stripper tool to remove vanes or wraps
Yeah chances are you aren't going to be able to save the wrap. Sometimes you can careful slice off the vane but you have to really watch so you don't cut into the arrow.
dont even bother trying to save the wraps. also dont buy anything to remove wraps. just boil the wraps and vanes in water for a couple minutes and they peel right off.
I'd be afraid that the vanes won't stick as well if you don't use a new wrap. It would probably be less of headache later on to remove everything.
^ This exactly! Just peel off the wrap and replace it and re-fletch. IMO there is no point in trying to penny pinch with arrow wraps since they're already so cheap. Like stated above, check out onestringer for more wraps
Nope. I have not had that issue. You only stick it in the water for maybe 5 secs.Don't let it touch the bottom, just submerge it until the wrap is covered in water.
Wasn't trying to penny pinch, I live in UK and have to wait a fortnight or more for my wraps to get here and removing the wrap was also a ball ache, but gonna try the boiling water plan and see if that works for me. Cheers Guys
