Big problems! Went to shoot my bow today and it broke! BROKE! How in the hell does that happen? This was a used bow and a cheap one but still someone could have gotten hurt. An arrow went God knows where and the damn thing fell apart! Thank God that my kids were not outside. So now I am in the market for a bow around 3 350. I think that if you purchase a PSE you will have a repeat. I don't know much about Mission bows. I would personally go used and purchase a Fred Bear or get a new Diamond. They have the Infinite Edge for about that price and it's a great bow.
You can find a decked out mission craze for that price. And anyone in your family can shoot it when you want to get a new one.
Perhaps that's a lesson not to buy cheap used bows? If you're going to buy used, don't buy a cheap made POS. You're better off getting a well cared for but older top of the line bow than one that was a cheapy when new. Glad no one got hurt.
Really a bear bow from 5 years ago is not all that, only in the past few years has bear been back in the market making decent bows again.
Mathews vs. Hoyt, PSE vs. bear, ford vs. chevy, 5 shot vs. 4 shot, mechanical vs. fixed, it goes on and on and on. there is not a bow manufacture out there that hasn't had a bow blow up. bottom line is s### happens. if you buy another used bow have your local bow shop give it a good look and go shoot.
I should have mentioned one thing I found. The shoot ability may be there for adults, with 28", or more draw. However, I wanted to try to shoot my sons and I found the string angle very severe for myself. I didn't want to change the bow around, so I never tried to play with the peep sight. I would have had to change my anchor to get good peep sight alignment. There are released on the market to help with this issue, so if your a longer draw, you might want to find one to shot, as with any new bow. However, my 12 year old has shot his for about 3 years and is pretty good.
