The first arrows to fly in 2016. Right where I left off from last deer season. Them turkey don't know what is about to happen to them on April 2, 2016. Lol. My 20 yard shots were right on target. I have just a little more than a month to keep at it, and hopefully get on some good birds this year. Who else is shooting and getting ready?

I take the offseason off due to the weather. I'm not set up to shoot indoors.

I shoot year round but live in Florida so don't have some of the weather issues others have. good luck to everyone gearing up for spring turkey.

I shoot in my basement if I can't get outside. I just like to shoot.
I don't know if I am ever ready but I give it my best and have fun.

I shoot my bow about 3 months of the year max. I really don't need all that much practice to be proficient from hunting distances.

I am the same Cooter at this point you either have it or you don't. Takes just a little bit to shake off the rust and get back to form.

I like to shoot too and all I have to do is walk out the door to shoot, I do have a lot of other stuff to do especially with the snow melting. I think it is more important to get the leaves off the food plots so I can frost seed.

We don't get much snow down here...lol. Same for me, just walk outside and shoot. I just 5-6 arrows usually. Takes 5 minutes. Have to relieve stress after work...lol. I've gotta Bush hog tomorrow. When do you start planting up there?

I will put the seed down as soon as the leaves are not froze, the heat from the sun and soil temp will hold the seed until the time is right. I hope to get the seed down in the next couple of weeks.

I shoot year around too but that's because I enjoy shooting. I haven't done much shooting this winter just because I don't live near the indoor range any more and I don't especially enjoy shooting in the cold.

It just takes a while to build up the muscle memory then you'll be shooting like you've done it all your life. this site has a lot of expertise so ask any questions that come to mind. I seek advice here all the time. welcome to the sport.

Patience. Patience. Patience. The key word to get where you can hit consistently where you want to is to develop a routine and follow it. Hit the same anchor point and make sure that your sight picture is the same each time. Shooting for me is fun so I have to watch myself and not overshoot. So shoot a few less arrows and take more time to shoot each one and I'm sure that you will find more consistency. Good luck.

Thanks, I now have steps in my head that I go through before I shoot. Since I been doing this my accuracy has been getting better!! Also joined a league at a local archery shop, which is very fun.
