Hey Guys, Anyone hear anything about these? I went to a hunting expo yesterday and they had a booth. I talked to the guy for 10 minutes or so and he showed me a few pics. Seems interesting, not sure if I'd ever try em. Broadheads Michigan - Broadhead Arrow Tips, Archery Supplies - All-Blade
The guy said that if I call them and order and mention his name, I'll get the 20.00 price they had at the expo.
I would never use those on deer. Just the idea of a field point leading the way seems like a bad idea Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Seems like something I may use on small game but I agree with the comment above. I don't think I want to lead with a field point
No way I would use that on a deer without doing some serious testing first. Small game ?,yup but not big game.
I'm not a fan of the serrated edge. if it was a straight razor maybe. that serrated edge just looks like it will hinder penetration.
I thought it looked really flimsy. The sales guy told me that they did many tests and that the serrated edge and flexible blade worked the best. I would have to see if they become popular and see some reviews before I start shooting a field point at a deer. However I would consider these for turkey or coyotes.
Yeah I think their market is for coyotes rabbits etc. I will take my smooth edge broad heads that have an extremely sharp tip on them
I would keep one or two handy in the quiver for coyotes, coins, etc...but I don't think I could ever bring myself to shoot a deer with one of these. I will stick with my ramcats, if it ain't broke don't fix it!
I mean this in no way to be offensive but the first thing I thought when seeing it in pictures (live could be different) was: cheap. Not reassuring when all my hard work and effort comes down to a shot. I'll pass definitely for now.
My dad bought some at a sports show last year. He tests and tests and evaluates bowhunting gear to death. He found that despite tuning, adding them behind a great flying arrow made them fly erratically. He found them unpredictable from arrow to arrow.
That is a little surprising giving how they market their product being that they fly true to a field point.
I was a the show too, I did the bear hunting seminars there. I spent some time talking to the guy about the broadheads and he said they have tried them on several species but not bear. My simple response was "DON'T." Frankly, I wouldn't risk it. They are not very sharp and when I pressed him about penetration, all he could say was that they make a big hole. No chance you will ever find one of these on the end of my arrow. The only application I could see for them was small game and maybe turkey.
