I think I've decided in the htx 60#. Shot one today & it maxed out at 63#. So the question comes to arrows: small diameter or regular diameter for 60#? I'm running Pile Drivers in my Arena 30 & Beman Porkchops in Chill R. Looking at Easton Injections or Gold Tip Kentics.

How old are you are getting strong or weaker moving forward. I just placed an order for a Bowtech Prodigy 50-60 being 57 and just finished chemo for luikemia. And 50 pounds will drill any deer providing you don't hit the shoulder.

Small diameter arrows provide a lot of advantages which include better penetration, less wind drift, thicker walls, etc. I've strayed a couple of times from small diameter arrows and each time go back.

Definitely small diameter, I use Easton FMJ's.

I use the Easton Axis and I dont think i'll ever go back to a regular diameter shaft for hunting. I might shoot 3d this summer so I thought about getting some different arrows for that, that are lighter.

Doesn't make a difference, the smaller diameter might stick a little deeper in the dirt after a pass through. That being said, I love my Gold Tips.

I don't shoot small diameter shafts but have heard they are better in some situations like longer distances in windy conditions. the question is if in your hunting situation they would provide enough of an edge. for a western antelope or mule deer hunt I might consider it. for my normal woods hunting they are not worth the expense of new arrows, new quiver, etc. good luck with it.
