Since converting to compound bows 10+ years ago I have routinely placed the arrow nock directly on the bowstring. I have read/been told that there are accuracy advantages if a "D" loop is installed and the release is attached to the loop and not directly to the bowstring itself....true or false? Is the difference material?

    Thanks in advance

True, especially on shorter ATA bows.

Just to be clear, even with a D-loop, the arrow is nocked directly to the bowstring. However, the mechanical release is attached to the D-loop, thus removing some twisting effect on the bowstring and reducing wear (from the release) of the bowstring.

I will never shoot without a D loop.

D-loops came into high use when the bow manufacturers started using fast-flight strings. The servings were frequently breaking before guys started using the loops.

Shot both ways. Always use a D-loop from here on out.
