What happened to that guy? He used to have a really good show....now he's been dumped by most of his long time sponsors...looks really aged, & if you follow him on social media he seems very bitter & "woe is me" about life in general...

A wife bailing on you can make you age plus other things.

What? When? How? Where have I been? Jay was literally the very first professional hunter I ever watched...back when you could rent hunting videos at the video store. I was probably 7 or 8 & I asked my dad if I could rent "bulls-n-bucks" on vhs. Jay seriously helped start my hunting obsession.

I agree. Seems like his separation has taken a big toll on him. I still watch his show on the Pursuit Channel.

Can't say I really know anything about his personal life but he's always been nothing but nice to me and willing to chat about hunting. I too grew up watching some of his first VHS videos and have always thought he is a great whitetail hunter. The guy has killed a pile of big deer - and all with a bow. That's a lot more than you can say for some of the other Iowa/Missouri folks out there who pile them up with muzzleloaders and rifles.

Often times the business side of this industry can be brutal and between trying to make a living as a professional hunter and whatever else life may throw at you, it's not easy.

Ever seen his band play? They played at a local bar a few years ago, decent cover band.

Sometimes women bail for a reason... Sometimes, the "rough patch" is a bit self-inflicted...

Seems like things kind started to unravel after the whole Keith Beam affair with that crazy pro-staffer chick who burned her family's house and barn down. Do a Google search and there's a lot "stories" floating around. I use to follow him on social media also, but was tired of the "poor me" selfies or the "all lone in bed". On a plus note, if you look at his list his is following on Instagram, its almost all hot young chicks.

Never met him personally, but have a close family friend who owns land next to his old farm (I believe Paul Thornton now has it now) and he says Jay is a real "Richard". Guess he was extremely un-neighborly and did some pretty extreme things in effort to disrupt his hunts. Heard a few other rumors that shouldn't be openly thrown out there.

But give credit, where credit is due... he can rock the $h!t out of visor!!

How is the deal with Keith Beam and Tara related to this? I know Jay was tight with Keith at one time...
