We haven't had time to go to the archery shop as they're all roughly an hour away. But, my husband bought a brand new G5 in October. He shot it at the shop and thought he liked it. Well, with shooting it more at home he decided he hates it and it has sat in the spare room. He just is attached to the trusty Mathews. So, my question - though I do understand all shops vary - would I make more selling outright or trying to trade in? I highly doubt we'll get what he paid for it - but if I could get close I'd be happy.
Sell on atalk or Craigslist to get most value out of it. I'd wait until next season to get even more out of it.
And, unfortunately, unless you got a great deal when you purchased, you probably won't get anything close to what you paid for it. You're probably looking at 50%'ish. Good luck though!
Until you ask, you'll never know. Some dealers treat their customers better than others. Though it is more likely to be a buyer that will pay the most but you never know.
shops around here won't even consider trade ins. they just don't do them. I have sold every bow myself, but you WILL NOT get close to what you paid for it. They are just like cars leaving the lot. depreciation!
I would definitely try to sell it locally first. I just sold my HTR on craigslist and it took about a month to find the right guy. Don't be afraid to post in the surrounding areas as some guys are willing to travel a little bit as well.
I'd be posting it on Archery Talk right now. This is the time of the year that people are starting to switch bows, so it makes it the perfect time. In it's current condition, you should be able to get around 80% of your money back.
This echoes my experience. Paid 850 for a bow, got 500 for it next season. I think they are worse than cars.
He got a good deal on it as it was a 2015 model and the guy was clearing for 2016. He got it fully set up for $600 - and that included six arrows (but he since used them in his other bow). I'll look around to posting it for sale. Hopefully find a local as I don't know how I'd ship it! Thanks for the input!
i had my elite e-35 on their (Archery talk) for 2 weeks no one is buying all are looking to trade bows.
I have it listed on a few groups. I cannot figure out draw length...hubby is out of town and it doesn't say like mine (it only lists cable length). So I'll have to have him figure that out next weekend. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
