Yea I agree elk, I think this was the most boring ATA I could remember. I think a lot has to do with that fact almost all the new bows are released in detail way before the show.
I think there's a lot of really cool stuff out there. Most of it isn't earth shattering innovation or technology but then again, what industry has trendsetting technology coming out on an annual basis? It's tough to come up with the new greatest thing since sliced bread year in and year out. I'm sure all of the companies at the ATA show would be open for suggestions from the peanut gallery on all of their innovative ideas.
I agree with this 100%. There's no anticipation for the hottest ticket items in the building b/c we already know what they are. Bowtech still generates a good buzz with their new release however everything else is pretty low key.
To me the Scent Crusher gear bag just doesn't seem it would work all that great. Pile in a bunch of cloths sandwiched together and expect to get good results... Now the gear closet seems like a good concept.
It is the unusual industry that can come up with new innovation year after year. With that said, there really wasn't much to even warrant a second look, not even a new and exciting camo design.
the thing i look for the most: 1.clothing (sitka had new lite bibs that came out and one said any thing about them) 2.tree stands (there is the summit ladder stand? the one with a twist ladder?) 3. sights 4.arrows but over all it was not that great of a show this year.
Does what the guy said about the Twister nock make sense? I get the parallel to the rifling of a gun barrel but would the same concept work on an arrow. A long arrow is being shot, not a small bullet. It seems like an interesting concept if it pans out as he explained.
Not sure I put that much thought into it. All I know is that system is going to fail with a little bit of moisture and freezing temps. Do they make a nock that rotates the opposite direction for lefties? LMAO!
As far as moisture and freezing temps, you will have all kinds of problems with it on your strings, cams, arrows etc. I would not worry just about the nock in this case. But as far as a Twister Nock for lefties, SpinNocks allow the fletching to rotate the arrow in the direction the arrow is fletched. Left or right. You can see slow motion videos on Facebook at SpinNocks. The videos will show what happens with each different kind of nock.
I think the Rambo bikes are pretty awesome. Kind of spendy but I could see where if you hunt in a remote area how they could be beneficial.
Moisture will not affect a SpinNock. And as I said, freezing moisture will be a problem with all of your equipment, i.e. cams, strings, arrows, fletching, and myself, etc. I don't hunt in freezing rain. As far as doing a test, I don't think this one is necessary, especially since you are probably meaning a slow motion video test. The camera used for the slow motion videos at SpinNock.com and my Facebook page was a Phantom Flex camera. But if you would like to pay for its rental I would be more than happy to. Check the prices to rent it before you agree to this.
Wasn't asking you to rent the camera - Just saying it would probably be a good idea to test your product under the elements (rain, snow, wind, cold). Take it as you will and good luck with the product!
