It has been one heck of a ride these last couple month. From being told I was a walking dead man... to you are lucky to survive it but no bow hunting for the rest of the season... to ok you can hunt the last few weeks. I got to see my buddy from Idaho but the bucks weren't moving much since it warmed up while he was here. Then on my first solo hunt, I passed up a good buck that was busted up. Things were still looking up and I was hopeful. This afternoon was the icing on the cake. Against my wife's wishes... I tromped in 3/4 of a mile to a spot I was dying.... eeerrrr.... wanting to hunt in the worst way. I found the perfect spot and killed a nice buck. He came off a hill and looked like a real good one. I think by being on top of the hill he gained 15 or so inches as I looked up at him. I knew the buck, he had no busted tines and the moment just felt special. I made a great shot but that is where the easy part ended. He had to run in a cattail slough and die. At least he ran towards the truck which was still a half mile away. Thank God for my calf sled the wife bought me years ago. It took the real work out of the equation. I still will probably feel it tomorrow but this guy could not be happier !!!!!!! Tim

That is awesome! Experiences like these is why I love bowhunting. There is a twisted romance a bowhunter has with nature and we can't get enough of it. Congrats man!
