This a gift to me from my 16yr old grandson. He is autistic and if you've ever known anyone who is autistic, you know that they go through obsessions. Well his current obsession is forging metal. He built a forge in the back yard and has been making swords and knives. He made this for me and told me to skin a deer with it. I love that boy. This is what it looked like before he got ahold of it. And this is the finished product. Blessings..........Pastorjim
That's really cool, he did a pretty good job on it. There's some pretty good money to be made in that hobby if he really likes doing it encourage him every chance you get. If he gets really really good at it those custom knives are worth a mint. Autistic people can make some of the neatest stuff out there, many have an attention to detail and a fervor that's hard to match.
That's a great Christmas story! The best gift I received was actually a gift that I gave. There's this lady that I often see throughout the year at the WaWa near where I live, and I'll see her looking through the butt can for a smoke. She's even asked me for "extra change" in the past. Obviously, her life isn't going well. I decided to try to make Christmas a little better for her, so I put $50 in a nice card and gave it to her yesterday. The way she looked at me when she said "God bless you", I'll never forget. That's the best Christmas gift I ever received.
