I just found sticks and summer sausage from the 14' deer season bared in the bottom of our freezer. It's vacuum sealed. What is the oldest venison you have ever pulled out of the freezer and ate? Would you be afraid to feed it to your friends or family? lol!

If it's not freezer burned I would eat it.

2014? I wouldn't think twice about it as long as it's sealed good and not freezer burned.

2014 sausage? Absolutely I'd eat it! Sausage has so many preservatives it pretty much never goes bad. Now when it comes to just plain deer meat, 2yrs is my absolute limit. Enjoy!

    Blessings.........Pastorjim

I'm almost out and it hasn't been 3 months. But I did give a little away to a friend and shared some with the family.

The kids will be home for a month around Christmas about the time the meat sticks and polish and hot dogs are back from the shop. My son is 20 and like a black bear he could smell and find the last bag of meat sticks under 30 pounds of chicken. Plus they will be bringing some back to school so it will be gone fast. Wish I could shoot more than 1 deer.

I usually cook it and give it a taste test if I find it in the bottom of the freezer. As long as its sealed it'll be good for a long time compared to just wrapping it.

As long as it wasn't rotted when you put it in the freezer, I'd not be concerned about it at all unless it's freezer burnt. Should be good to go.
