REALLY excited about this guy... I have only been shooting my compound not even 2 years and I've practiced and practiced to make this happen, but was uncertain it would because of my 40 lb. draw weight. I took 2 doe last year, but I just wasn't confident I could bring down a big buck because of his size (my husband's arrows go all the way through an animal, and mine never have). Well, I did! I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I shot him broadside and within 20 seconds heard him crash just out of sight. I called my husband and he came up with the truck. As soon as we peeked over the hill, there he was--white belly up!!! From the shot to hanging by the shed took less than 1 hour with a little help from our neighbor My first buck with a compound...on our new farm.
Congrats on the buck! I had to get my wife the ladies version of UA treestand. She liked the olive and pink better than the black and chartreuse. I keep telling her it can be done with 40 lbs. She's been shooting but is only up to 38. Happy Thanksgiving!
awesome! congrats! now I have some fire power against my buddies that wimped out and now hunt with a crossgun because their shoulder hurts. lol I kept telling them they can pull 40# draw.
Congrats on your buck,I must say that second picture with you and the buck is one of the best I have seen, everything about it I like! Good on ya! Rocky
