Just switched arrow size so I need some new broadheads. I don't know if I want a fixed blade or expandable. I want something with good penetration but also creates a decent wound channel. It doesn't have to be a ridiculous wound channel but something that could get a pass thru and still do some cutting damage. For starters I've been told the Ramcat is good as well as the Rage Extreme. Any suggestions?

Almost everyone on here will have a different opinion. I have noticed that Rage shoot different than field tips for my crossbow but normal for my compound. Any broad head you get will kill a deer with a good shot.

I need to switch because I'm not shooting deep six arrows anymore. I was using hypodermics with my deep six arrows but didn't like them

I have shot ramcats for 3 years now and I will shoot as lo g as they are making g them and beyond since I ordered 10 packages of heads and 10 packages of replacement blades. As said shot placement is key but with an 1 3/8 cut and back cut technology I have not been let down yet. I would definitely recommend giving them a try. You just can't beat a quality fixed blade head. I have also heard good things about the qau exodus but no personal experiences.

I shoot the Swhacker two blade expandable with a 2" cut. They fly just like field tips and not a single deer that I have shot has gone more than 70 yards. Also pass throughs on every deer but one.

Montecs ,hellraiser and exodus are as good as any.
Shot a doe this year with an exodus, she turned and I ended up in the shoulder. Broke the shoulder and complete pass through.

Do a little research on them. Check out some videos and really find what fits your needs. As many have said, a lot of the broad heads mentioned will do the job when properly used. :tu:

Good old 3 blade Muzzy's have killed a ton of game for me. A solid built fixed blade will give you the best opportunity for a pass through. I would also look at Slicktricks. I have heard a lot of good reports.

I just switched to the Wasp Drone fixed blade. I took one out to broadhead tune and out of the package it flew with my field points out to 30 yards.

All steel construction, replaceable blades, I have a good feeling about how they will perform.

Pick one...put it in the boiler room and the broadhead choice will matter little if not nothing. :D

I use Slick Trick Magnums for whatever that is worth.

For the most part if you walk into a shop face the wall with broad heads. Close your eyes and grab something you will probably get something that will do the job.

I used thunderheads for years but with my new setup this year I am giving Rage Hypodermics a shot. Hope to find out soon how they work first hand.
