Best November 1st ive ever had. Usually my bucks dont come until 2nd week in november. it was 59 degrees yesterday and extremely windy (28 mph). Crappy conditions! i knew the wind was supposed to die at 4 pm so i decided to sit anyway since its about that time of year!! the woods were completely dead from when i got in my stand at 2 all the way until this guy walked out at 5pm. the wind had me pretty discouraged since it was still howling at 4:30 and i hadnt seen anything. at about 4:50 the wind finally settled down a bit and the woods looked perfect! i rattled my antlers a little bit since its the first time things were quiet. maybe i could get something moving in the last 20 min of light i thought. about 5 minutes later i saw a body moving through some brush. then Antlers! this guy was heading directly towards me coming from down wind 60 yards away. he must have caught the hot doe i put out. he walked perfectly broad side 15 yards right where i put scent. with only a couple minutes of sun i let the arrow fly around 5PM double lung shot perfect ran 70 yards and goes down! great hunt and possibly my biggest rack yet! this should give Team catch 22 a good lead on things haha. score will be done tonight and will be posting to offical scored card following! good luck fellow bow addicts! this is the time we all wait for!
