With the exception of it being a week or two early yet, it looks like the next 3 days are shaping up to be ripe for buck movement here in the Midwest. A low pressure system just pushed through yesterday and into this morning which brought a nice down turn in temperatures. Looks like our pressure is going to be rising from today through the weekend before dropping back off on Monday. The forecast is sunny skies, below average temps, and steady winds between 8 and 15 mph. The moon will be rising around mid day and will be peaking overhead between 4:30 and 5:30 on Saturday & Sunday. If you buy into any of these factors affecting deer movement this looks like the perfect storm. I would expect to see a lot of pre-rut action with bucks scraping, rubbing, and possibly coming to destination food sources in the evening to begin checking out the ladies. Of course now that I've said this I won't see a deer all weekend. But hey, I'll certainly be out trying!
Heck yeah Justin. Temps are dropping big time here in VA. The only day I will be able to hunt over the next 5-6 days will be tomorrow morning and you better believe I will be in a tree. KILL!
Yep, I was looking at this weekend too! Everything is lining up right anyways. I have a function for a guy that works for me Saturday evening, but other than that, I plan on being in a stand!
I'll be out for sure. Super high pressure of 30.50 forecasted for Sunday here in Ohio! Good luck guys and gals!
Starting this afternoon I will be in the woods for the next 4 days!! I am ready to see some buck movement!!
High winds expected all day here in central MN... Turning light and variable for tomorrow afternoon. 25 degrees Saturday morning with a high of 45 and sunny skies. Shaping up to be an excellent weekend.
I'm excited. Where can you find the future barometric pressure? When I goggle it, it only shows today
I've been thinking this all week. Looks like I will only be able to hunt Saturday night though which sucks.
Yes, but if I had to pick one hunt for the weekend this would be it. Conditions will be ripe. It's time to kill.
First frost Sunday night into Monday here in VA. Pressure will be at a crazy 30.6 on Monday afternoon. Man Id love to be in the woods on Monday. KILL!
Been waiting forbthis weekend for a couple weeks now, Saturday is the day many of them will fall. Coldest day of the season, light winds and mid October. Saturday is likely my first all day sit of the year.
I'll be in the tree all weekend, we'll see what happens! Last time I hunted after a cold front I didn't see a single deer... But maybe some things changed and I'll see some much needed activity.
Looks like Friday afternoon/Saturday morning will be great in PA. Sunday looks even better but yeah...
Agree. Suppose to be in the low 20's tonight. Hopefully that gets the deer moving! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
