So at 7:00pm I shot a huge buck. It was 44 yards and I was confident in the shot. I decided to back out for the night after I tracked the blood for 50 yards and was finding drips of dark blood. These pictures of blood are from the shot site. I'm in SW ohio I'll keep you posted.
I'm sure I did. All the signs look bad 40 yards in the woods. Dark blood. White hair. Deer going straight uphill. Let you know in the morning
I am cheering for you. At the same time I've seen so many of these type of threads go very bad. Rookie move dude! :p
Opening himself up to the potential wrath of some on this forum if he doesn't make the recovery. Historically those threads I have seen can get ugly. IMO, I am not saying a word until I have said buck in hand.
Like the one you're holding in your avvy? Come on, admit it...you gut shot that one last year and didn't have the nads to admit it when it happened. You sooo busted.
Heckler, if I don't find him and you want to give me a hard time then so be it. I'm still sharing my story next time. I'm hoping its a easy day of tracking this morning. I'll keep you posted. Weather here is 42 degrees last night and clear. I didn't find the arrow last night so I don't know purebow. It was dark 30 when I got out of my stand and working off a head lamp to find a arrow in beans was not going easily. I'm hoping the white hair is from a exit. I was sitting 22' high although it was from 44yards I'm still optimistic with the angle the white hair could be a exit. I'll let you know.
if you are worried wait til after lunch to give him more time if it is guts. some times it takes up to 24 hrs for gut shot. when you find his bed that will tell you more. if it was a meat shot that I think would be more bright red. were you still following blood when backed out?
