I've been shooting with both eyes opened lately. I can see my target better than ever. I can even see the flight of my arrow. Here is a picture of my 55 yard shots. How do you all shoot. 20151007_143026.jpg 20151007_143026.jpg

After more than 35 years of playing this game, I have finally trained myself to shoot with both eyes open and wish I had done it my entire life. I encourage it for sure. It totally eliminates the urge to peek at the release of the arrow.

Started with one eye switched to two eyes. Same with guns be it iron sights or scope. Started my wife shooting both eyes open. Thought she was a good shot before.....I wouldn't mess with her now!

I'm right handed but left eye dominant so sometimes I shoot with one eye and sometimes I squint with my left eye till my right eye takes over. It 's been a pain in the backside to get used to so unfortunately I go back and forth.

I had the same problem and battled it when first switching over. Make a triangle touching your index to index and thumb to thumb together. Than close your left eye and focus through your right, than slowly open your left eye and keep the dominance in your right eye. After about a week you will soon have your eye trained for dominance.

I've always been both eyes open, I felt that I lost too much awareness when I closed one. I like being able to see my arrow's flight and the knowledge of where it hits.

You can't do this - if a person is opposite side dominant, the true fix is to switch totally. If you shoot right handed and you are left eye dominant, the only true fix is to switch to left hand shooter. I'm left handed right eye dominant. I shoot guns and bows right handed. My son is right handed but is left eye dominant - he shoots left handed.

while not the exact same, this video has some relation to the eye dominance issue.

with work and time you can train your brain and change or condition yourself to overcome an eye dominance issue.

I shoot everything with both eyes open; bows, scoped rifles, shotguns, slingshots, you name it.

First of all, nice shooting!! I can only shoot with one eye, never can shoot with both eyes open, never, very uncomfortable to me.

One but would like to work on two again.

For a short time this summer I tried both eyes open. I like that I can see my arrow flight much better and I can see more of what is going on around me but it was a total fight to try and shoot with both open, so much of a fight that it would aggravate me and I gave up on it!
