Our opening day was Tuesday and it was 80 out. I could smell my bow and my self. It was a hard lesson to learn. I had scent killer gold and bone collector scent spray both empty. It was still a great sit though I just love the woods. Sunday should be 45 in the morning with a good wind in a choke point on the land. I know they travel this area a lot. Can't wait for Sunday.
It was 88 here with some terrible humidity on Wednesday(the only night I could hunt this week), but I decided to skip it since it was so warm and the wind was totally wrong. I've got the itch to get out there though for sure.
They are calling for a high of 83 tomorrow with afternoon t-storms for our PA early opener. Looks like 50's in the AM. I doubt I will hunt the afternoon but I will be out in the morning for sure. Like any time of year, make sure you have the right wind for your stand. I am also very picky of the shot I take because you need a fast recovery in warm temps.
I haven't been out yet Keith!! To hot for me, high risk of the meat spoiling too. I'll be out Sunday morning for the first sit!! Next weeks temps are looking better Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If you are hunting in the heat make certain that you have the facility or the means to cool that deer down after you gut it. Hate to go thru all the work of recovering and gutting a deer and then lose the meat.

Went out just to practice went through where I thought they would come in. What tree to grab the bow and which one to draw the bow. I ranged a few trees got my gear up in the tree ready for the next sit. We now know all the shooting lanes need to be trimmed and pruned. Got a lot of info from my one night sit. Lot of work to do Sunday clearing every thing and set up a blind. I will be hunting in my blind Sunday morning hope it works out we are taking a big chance.
.......if at all possible Keith, I'd try to hold off on clearing lanes and stinking the area up this early in the season. it's really risky...looks like a chance of rain on Tuesday, any chance of getting out to trim lanes Tuesday if everything is wet?
Tuesday was the CT opener and I managed to arrow a buck 7 minutes into the season. I went back out last night, though. It was 87 and I was set up on a field edge with no shade and I roasted...and worse, no deer in sight.
I got out for our opener Tuesday. It was warm walk in and I didn't see anything, it was more of just getting out than anything else. This weekend though, its on. Great temps, wife is heading out as well, checking on some property we just got permission on and got the new bow all dialed in. Just got to stop smashing arrows.
Supposed to be 68-70°f here tomorrow. Right now 70 feels super cold to me and believe it or not I have to wear a sweat shirt and I'm still cold.
I went and cleared lanes stayed away for the weekend. We are all ways in the field cutting wood the deer are use to people in the woods cutting trees. I am on a tree farm right now and love it there. I will not hunt until this Sunday or Saturday. I hope everything I did is good by then. If not we have several other stands to sit in.
We're in the same boat with the warm temps. There has been a couple of mornings that were "iffy" but I just hate to try it right now.
I've got 2 weeks left.....and it's still in the 70's.....Bummer...I'm hoping on some cooler weather here soon.... Creeks!
