I've always wanted a pair of bibs but somehow I always end up with pants. More/better selection maybe? And I always wear suspenders, even if I don't need them. Guess I'm really just a bibs wannabe.
I wear pants in warmer weather and bibs in colder weather. Not having the gap between pants/coat seems to keep me warmer. Bibs do seem to be a bit more uncomfortable since they're pulling on my back/neck no matter how I have them adjusted.
Fitz just ended the debate. But I just wear sweatpants under it. Might as well be really comfy! Haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I go with bibs when possible find them more comfortable not having anything tight around my waist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Early season i have pants, late season i wear bibs. Thats just what i have however, i think the added core insulation in the bibs is a plus for the colder late season temps.
I like mid-weight pant and jacket that I can layer with. Seems to be the most versatile and maneuverable system. Bib's are just too bulky for me. Then when it's cold enough, the HBS is better than any bib & parka I've ever used. Plus it's easier to shoot with.
Under Armour Ayton Bibs in Mossy Oak Treestand. Doesn't get any better than that! Comfortable, good price and warm.
I wear pants and then switch to bibs once it gets in the low 30s or less. Bibs are nice because there's no chance of something coming untucked and letting air get to your back.
I use bibs, because every time I'd sit in the rain with just pants and coat I'd always get wet on my lower back and butt. That got old quickly! The bib stopped all that nonsense.
I like bibs also for warmth and scent control. I've never seen a good pair of early season bibs or I'd probably wear them over pants. Seems like you have less of the chance of lower body scent escaping with bibs and jacket. I also always keep my pant or bib legs untucked from my boots for this same reason...otherwise every step you take is like a billow...poof there goes the scent of your sweaty feet with every step.
