So I'm hunting this small area and by small i mean 11 acres and i'm currently running 3 trail cameras on it. Is that to many? Personally i'd like to run 5 or 6 but i don't have the money for that, still what do you guys think, is three to many for that small of a hunting area? Lets hear it!

I don't think there is such a thing as too many cameras. A more important question to ask would be "am I checking my cameras too often?"

Swampthing nailed it on the head. You can run as many as you want but for that small of an area if you start checking them all once a week or two that to me would be too much walking around scenting up the area and possibly bumping off deer that possibly bed in the area. If you ran more cameras, I would really limit yourself to checking them like every month at minimum.

I walk in to feed around 345 days a year, I leave scent every single time. Deer don't seem to mind one bit you just have to be consistant.

My friend has about 50 acres in Ohio and we have 5-8 cameras going most of the time. I seldom put any out in PA because I hunt public land.

Very Good Point! I feed nearly year round too and the deer come back in that same evening after I have been in the woods. Granted I wash and wear the same (treated clothing) EVERY TIME I go into the woods once the weather turns warm and ticks are crawling.

No such thing as TOO many cams! That said, running cams for the sake of running cams isn't going to help you, but rather will likely hurt you. Placement is key and with 11 acres you need to be sure you're not bumping deer. You say they don't mind it, but I guarantee that much traffic greatly reduces your chance at harvesting a mature deer. On 11 acres you will get a great inventory of what is using the area just fine with a couple cams.

I understand trying to stay out of the woods on such a small area but its even harder when its right behind your house! I can hear the cameras calling to me "Come check me" its very hard but i manage

It depends on why the deer are using the property, if it's a feeding area they'll expect human scent and you'll get away with it, if the deer are there for bedding you'll ruin the property.
