Checked the trail cams the other day to find a sequence on one that was odd. A strutter.....hen. That's right, i have a sequence of pictures that involves a hen fight, in which one of the hens is at full strut prior to the butt whoopin! haha check it out!

I saw a hen strut once but she wasn't fighting another hen. I had settled in just after daylight and saw movement to my left. I could tell through the brush that it was a turkey that had it's tail fanned out. I positioned my shotgun to point towards that direction. As the turkey got closer, I started thinking that something didn't look right. The size was pretty small and the color of the feathers and head were off. Once the turkey cleared the brush, it was only about 30 yards away. In Missouri, the turkey has to be a bearded turkey to be legal so I started looking for the beard. There was no beard and that's when I realized it was a hen that was strutting. She eventually made her way off into the woods and 15 minutes later a goobler showed up and I got him. That's the only time I have seen a hen fan and strut like that except for your pictures above.
I didn't know hens strut, but then again I'm a deer hunter not a turkey hunter, so I don't know that much about turkey's.
wife and i had this happen over a dsd decoy in the submissive position, that hen strutd and peckd at her for a good 20mins, she even stood up on her legs and flapd her wings at the decoy, thought my trail caught it all,but only got a few pics here and there, it was our first seeing this happen, i actually ran her off, she had peckd the beek of the decoy so long and hard she put a hole, i patchd it over with gel super glue.... awesome morning for us in the blind, russ and dee
