After missing a Jake on Friday morning, both with sub par footage and with the CX I was given another chance Saturday morning. I was self filming and I called back and forth with this bird for about 20 min right of the roost. I shot him at about 615am. He cleared the timber and headed straight for the jake decoy. I placed a good shot on him at 15 yards. He flopped and flipped and expired about 25 yards away. It was a great morning in the turkey woods! I sure missed my camera lady though! Thanks for sharing the photos...and congratulations. When you say SE Wisconsin...where? I'm originally from Watertown, but haven't lived there in 50+ years.

Congrats on a nice bird. I'll be hunting kenosha county as well starting tonight. Did you have any other decoys out besides the jake? How aggressive was your calling? I'm thinking about putting out a full strut jake, a breeder hen on the ground in front of him and another hen standing. Any info would be great. I saw four in the field yesterday afternoon on one of the properties I hunt. Got the turkey juices flowing! Congrats again!

I had an Avian X hen feeder and the Avian X Jake. I always call sparingly. ... Once i have one on the line i go quiet do more listening then calling. Good luck wanderer!
