Okay, some of you guys might have a similar problem. I want to put my blind in this one specific spot, but it's in a pasture with cattle and I don't want them to destroy it. I was thinking maybe putting some large sticks in the ground pointing out at an angle would keep them away, but thinking about it they would probably use them as scratching posts. Anybody have a affordable idea that would last at least one season?

Can you just drag brush in front of it and move it away when you plan to hunt? A few honeysuckles would do the trick.

I just pound in several fence posts around the blind. Probably about 8 or so will do.

A battery cost a bit more than I would be willing to spend at the time. Tim Gillingham had the same idea.

That sounds like a good idea, I'm sure I can find about six or so. I wouldn't need that many since I found a spot in the middle of some dead trees that covers about two and a half sides.

I could do that since the loggers made a huge mess with tree tops laying around everywhere. I'll do that and copperheads's idea. That should make it pretty cow proof.

T post and 2 strands of barb wire as long as you pull it tight when you tie it off they will stay away from your blind all cattle are conditioned almost all of their lives to avoid barb wire

I think I could combine a few of these ideas and make the ultimate unpenetrable cow proof blind. lol

This except one strand is probably enough. We do this exact thing to keep cattle away from irrigation wells that happen to be in the pasture. It doesn't even have to be stretched very tight. Just enough to keep it off the ground about middle of your thigh high.

Find a used one... take it from a guy who has lost a few blinds to cows..... nothing other than the elec fence is gonna keep em away and even it can fail...

Small portable electric fence. Place some small stakes and wire that you leave up and just carry the battery powered box in when your hunting.

    There's solar powered electric fencers.
