Here it is guys! Our first Wild Game cooking episode. We took the meat from this big 300lb boar and turned it into some pretty bad@$$ Cuban Sandwiches! Check it out and let us know yours thoughts!

Thats what we were hoping to accomplish. Those big pigs have gotten the stigma of being inedible, when if you prep it right they be just as good as a 80-100lb meat pig. glad yall enjoyed!

I think in the area I hunt there are just so many of them that most folks shoot the smaller ones for expedience cause they don't have to prep them as long, but heck I like wild hog and don't mind the wait so I'm gonna try it, Again kudos!! great video to BTW!!

I know a guy who traps them and feeds them out for a couple months then slaughters them, to be honest I couldn't tell his from good farm raised pig except much leaner and probably a lot better for you. All organic.

I have a couple monsters stalking my place check out my picks in this thread ( Next Weekend it begins in Texas!!!) the last pick is a Big Boar the wire in the pic is 40 in hog wire so I'm guessing close to 300 or maybe even 400

Great video brother. I usually do a citrus brine kinda similar to what you guys did but I cook it in lipton onion soup mix or chicken broth for 24 hours on low in a crock pot. I pull it out remove the liquid string it and then add BBQ sauce, either carolina style or red and then put it back on low for another 4 hours. I almost guarantee that you want be able to tell the difference between that and a pork shoulder from the market.

Nice job Chris, that sandwich looked delish. I've only had experience with the three hogs we killed in Oklahoma a couple years ago. they were between 130 and 180lbs. They were very good eating until we lost the majority of it due to our freezer going out.

Looks good. I've always been told anything can taste good if you know how to prepare it. Looks like it was your first time in a kitchen. Ha.

Very cool. Thanks for the video.

We eat all of our boar hogs. My Cuban wife makes a killer brine out of wild sour oranges from the same property.

Not sayin it ain't true that you can eat the big ones but if you don't do some kind of long soak on the ones in my area inTexas I'm hear to tell ya they will have a very strong wild taste... Maybe the difference in what they feed on around here.

I also understand that hunting them with dogs and getting their testosterone pumped through their blood system also leaves a bad taste in the meat. That's why maybe bow hunting or rifle hunting them and may be a better option when you going to eat them.
