Well this past weekend I went to go re sight in my bow after making the adjustments that was suggested on here. Now everything was going good, my groups were tighter after quick fletching my arrows, my peep was dead on and had room to move my sight housing without bottoming out, then as was at full draw there was a loud bang, the string had snapped and in doing so the peep shot off cracked my mounting hole on my sight for my quiver then shot up and took a chunk out my quiver. I don't know what happen or how it happen I just know I'm gonna call pse and ask some questions. What are your thoughts on this.
Glad you weren't hurt and sorry to hear about the break. How did you move your peep? If you just slid it in the string under pressure you may have damaged the string and caused the break. The slightest imperfection in the peep could have cut the string.
As long as your alright is the main thing. As for warranty go on line and read what they cover. Not sure the string is but doesn't hurt to call either. Hutch
Glad you didn't get hurt, that could have easily whipped you in the face or eye breaking in that location!
I called pse and gonna send it to them, I explain everything to them and they wanna see it. I check warranty and doesn't cover wearable items but yet its a new bow.
He makes some awesome strings. PSE is pretty good with warranty...at least from my experience. Sent from my XT830C
Yeah they seem pretty good on things talking to them and there like send it in, and hutch got some nice looking strings.
This really is the important thing. You were lucky, all kinds of crazy stuff could have happened. I heard of a guy who had his string break on the draw and he knocked out a few of his own teeth. There had to have been a partial slice somewhere on the string. Put some new strings on and be happy again!
I am really surprised that no one mentioned this.. take your bow to a professional and have them check the limbs and all for damage as well. I would think the string snapping is like dry firing the bow, which can cause damage to the limbs and sockets. Better to be safe then sorry. Like everyone else said, good to hear that you were not hurt. The pressure a compound bow is under, could do some serious damage to your face and/or body.
Yeah I'm lucky I didn't get hurt, I had a arrow nocked and was sighting in my bow when it snapped butthe arrow did hit the bag though. I am sending it in to pse tomarrow.
Well with any luck PSE will take care of it for you and glad to hear that you weren't hurt during it. Let us know what happens with it.
I had a friend a few years back with a similar problem. PSE made good on their warranty and replaced the bow and yes it was a snapped string. I think it was an America's Best? Good luck.
I sent my bow back to pse, but when I was taking everything off I noticed something I hadn't notice before the flex cable guard was gone I guess it had broke off too, but I never seen it on the ground were I was shooting. It got me thinking how did it break.
Well everyone I got my bow back yesterday, pse replaced the cams, strings and cables. I'm really impressed with pse and there customer service and how quick the turn around was, now its time to get a new rest, peep and strings which I will go to hutch for.......
