Yesterday state council approved hunting bears with a bow. Pretty excited to say the least. Really want to take a bear with a bow and we have seen multiple on our property. http://www.nj.com/sussex-county/ind...r_nj_plan_push_into_other_parts_of_state.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
First I heard this but then again there are no bears where I live! Good luck hope you are able to harvest one!!!
If your hunting from an elevated stand you can bait but must be more than 300 feet from the pile. You can hunt over a bait pile from the ground. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah bear hunting is only allows in the north west corner of the state. Hopefully I can put one down this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah I don't get it either. And you can't hunt a stand for bear if you have a deer's gut pile within 300 feet of the stand. Pretty ridiculous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They haven't updated the regs after passing the allowance of bowhunting. This is for muzzleloader and slug gun so they may change it for bow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
For safety sake I would think that if you are close to bait that you are elevated. I don't know of any baiters that use a ground blind.
Yeah that makes sense. But I think we will see a change in the regs now that they are allowing bowhunting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
oh man I wanna hunt some bears with the bow.... any state land there to hunt that's good? I don't have anywhere to go in NJ
There is a pretty good amount of state land all over nj. Just do some research and I'm sure you will find some good places to hunt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Maybe it's a round about way to say no baiting with meat? Although 300 feet is really nothing if huntind with a rifle/muzzle loader.
Mate, but no mention of it. I'll send an email today and ask if they are thinking about changing the regs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
