I just got a used single pin slider and help sighting it in. I have got it close on the 20 yard position. My question is how do I know how much to move to get set at 30,40,50 ect.

What type of sight is it? Most single pin slider sights come with yardage tapes. The have a setup tape and then numbered tapes based on where your shots at 20 40 or 60 yards fall.

I just wing it. Going from 20 to 30 yards there isn't going to be that much of a difference so just move a little at a time.

Just walk it back. You will get a pretty good idea how far you need to move it. Obviously your spacing between markers will get larger the further you go from the target.

Ok cool. Get it Dead On at 20 yards. Mark that spot on the sight. Then do as Heckler said and walk it off. If you have a rangefinder, that would be really helpful. Once you get it Dead On at 30 yards, do the same for the other yardages and mark them on the sight. It helps sometimes to go back in 5 yard increments. Good Luck!

I agree with Sam, move back in 5 yard increments. Slow maybe, but you won't go from 20 to 30 and take a guess with your sight and miss completely lol.

there are some programs out there that will print the tape ya need... you put in the arrow speed, draw weight, arrow type, length, draw length, broadhead weight, brand of site, and it prints out the tape ya need

I use the Software For Archers, from Pinwheel, I believe that they have a free trial for the tape making program. Other than that, before my HHA sight tapes, I would just trial and error it.
