Saw this posted on the bowhunting.com Facebook page... For those of you that use some or all of your tax return dollars for hunting gear, what do you plan on getting this year? I usually don't use mine for leisurely things but have decided that I am getting a QAD rest and also Monster Raxx Mineral/Attractant to start my spring sites.
What tax return dollars? lmao This is the FIRST time I've ever owed the IRS money in my entire life! I have to give up $263. (hangs head low)
I don't get normal paychecks like you guys do, so I will be paying in around $2,000-$3,000 this year.
Not a fan of tax refunds. If you are getting money back, you let the government use your money all year for free. If I ever screw up and get a refund, it goes straight into a retirement account.
I wish we only owed $263, we owe a LOT more than that. First time in my life I have ever owed. With two decent incomes we got bumped into a new tax bracket apparently and got hit hard. Gotta love the government.
I am looking at getting a light and mid weight top from first lite for ground blind hunting in spring and early fall.
I'm not a huge fan either of getting a bunch back on returns. However, I have my wife and I setup to get back about 1K every year. This way, if I end up doing any freelance web work, or any other unforeseen circumstance comes up, we have a little padding so that we don't owe or owe very little. What we do get back usually goes to family vacation or house crap. No hunting gear for me. Thats what my freelance jobs are for.
Yeah not a big fan of the tax return, or taxes in general. But if I did get any money back (I won't), it will go right into a fund for building a deck. Wife has wanted one for years, so that's where all my extra money is going.
Not a big fan of writing the check. I try not to think of what it pays for, a cell phone? Free debit cards every month? parasites.
You know, I don't mind paying income tax so much because our country relies on it to survive/prosper, BUT, what gets me is when I have to pay income tax on the interest of my savings!!! You know, the money you ALREADY paid taxes on once before!!!!!!!!
Welfare programs should really be the least of your worries when writing that check. If you make $50,000, only like $4 goes to welfare programs. A insignificant amount really. We've been purposesly distracted by stuff like that so we don't pay attention to the real parasites.
I plan on getting a new hood style face mask, a new trail camera, possibly a jacket or hooded sweatshirt, and a dehydrator.
I live in Minnesota who always ranks near the top when it comes to taxes, I am well aware of where my tax $ go.
Source? I just have an issue with SS. It's a Ponzi scheme, and the only reason it's allowed is because the government is running it.
I won't be able to, it will be bone dry by the time I reach age to collect it. And it's not a thought, it's a truth. The SS is collected from my paycheck, in lieu of a promise that I will be able to collect at a later date, and then given to people who have already reached that date. It's not gaining interest, or anything else, It's going right into the hands of people who were promised it before me. The Government is hoping that by the time I reach my age, they will still be able to borrow money from other people to pay me back. That's a Ponzi scheme. If I had a choice, I wouldn't pay it, it would go into my other retirement accounts, where the chances of me seeing it in the future are about 100% higher.
