I just got my NO Cam HTR set up. I was wondering which kind of quiver would be better to use while I'm dialing in my sight and getting used to using my Stan Shootoff Quattro release?
i never shoot with quiver on so understand that, but your just sighting in... what difference does it make if you have a pricey hip quiver or just have them set up/in something?
I have a trophy ridge detachable quiver but I never keep it attached to my bow. Its either strapped on my badlands pack or on my accessory hook in the stand
I suppose I could grab a trash can out of one of the bedrooms since I'm just going to the archery range, outdoors mind you, here in Minnesota where there isn't a soul because it's only 20 degrees, if that.
If the quiver ill work and funds arent an issue it would be a solid choice and convenient... But if that is your only reason for buying it i would think it would unnecessary.. If you are gonna use it for 3D shoots and stuff then prolly get your money out of it. I would still check wal mart or Amazon for a cheap one before buying a high dollar name brand one. i do have a hip quiver that i use in the back yard, bought it and a Elk shed for $7 at a yard sale. I normally use its when im shooting for a while and its easy when shooting from a treestand and going up and down.
Thanks donut for the solid advice. When you've been spending dollars at such a furious clip trying to get the best setup for your bow it's hard to remember to be practical. $7.00 sounds sbout right to me.
If I'm just flinging a bunch of practice arrows, I just slide them in my back pocket. I hunt with my quiver on os it's always attached to my bow, but sometimes I wanna shoot more than 5 at a time, so that's what I do.
After needing a quick follow up arrow and having it back by my spotter (stalking a mule deer in SD once) I now never take my quiver off. I use a Tightspot.
bow quiver .. and my bow is tuned to shoot with quiver attached. A hip quiver would be something else for me to keep up and would end up forgetting it in the truck.
I keep my practice arrows in a bucket the cat litter came in, throw the arrow puller in the bottom. I shoot at my house and shoot out of the garage so I am not moving very far.
I usually pratice with my quiver on, but really there is no difference in my shooting since the Tightspot tucks in so nicely, so sometimes I take it off when practicing. I built this out of PVC for my practice range:
I hunt with my bow quiver on, so I practice with it on. If I want to shoot more than 5 arrow at once, I just drop them in my bow caddy and do it that way.
I don't hunt or practice with a quiver attached to my bow either. The only reason I have one that attaches to my bow is for carrying arrows to and from the stand, creating one less thing I physically have to remember to grab and carry. When practicing at home, we shoot off our deck. Arrows are in bucket to keep them contained. At the free outdoor range, they have bow hangers and arrow holders there for your convenience.
