Best big game broadhead

I'm going on a hunt and I was wondering what y'all think are the best big game broadheads, or broadheads that you've taken an animal with. Thanks!

Not trying to sound mean but do a search. This question has been asked hundreds of times in hundreds of ways. Usually these questions only generate a, to put it kindly, "discussion" about each persons preference. Most broadheads out there today will do the job adequately if put in the kill zone of whatever game you're hunting. My "preference" is 2 blade rage for a mechanical and slick tricks for a fixed blade.

I will always stand behind the NAP hellrazors. I have had very good and not so good luck with expandables, which is why I rec a fixed head. Havent tried any newer ones besides NAP killzones.

 

I'm partial to NAP spitfires, but honestly its whatever broadhead shoots accurately and consistently out of your setup. All heads will kill game quickly when you hit them in the vitals. All heads will wound game and result in lost kills when you don't hit the vitals. Find a head that tunes well for your bow and arrow combination, practice a lot with it, and go hunting confident in your equipment.

 

I have used MUZZY,THUNDER HEADS, BEAR,NAP,RAM CAT,SATELLITE, and a few others in the last 45 years and they all killed deer..

currently use swhackers and am 7 for 7 on deer in the last two years

 

You can have the best broadhead in the world but it needs to be used with the right arrow as well.

Def a big fan of Slick Tricks for Fixed blades. Just can't go wrong with them with 4 cutting surfaces, razor sharp blades, and fly like field points.

 

I'm using muzzy trocars, somewhat limited as my arrows have the deep six insert. Did a quick job on my elk this year.

 

Definitely a fixed blade without serrated blades... never had a bad experience with my NAP Thunderheads

 

Take a look at the helix broadhead if you want a true performer on large game where penetration may be an issue.

The helix is a true single bevel that will rotate as it travels through the animal causing massive tissue damage and will out penetrate double bevel designs.

You can get them from 100 gr to 150 gr with 7075 aluminum ferrules or 175 to 225 with solid steel ferrule and they use 420 ss at 51-53 rc.

I'm a huge fan of magnus stinger buzzcuts and use the 150's and ,while I'm confident they would get the job done on elk, if/when I go after elk,I will have helix heads on my arrows.

while I have limited experience with them the ramcat is a nasty head....

 

QAD exodus are great heads, they are durable and accurate.

 

I have used grim reapers in the past and now I'm using rage 2blade chisel 2inch. But what matters the most is what head will match your tip by sighting it from10-20yds. so rage was my answer
