= really cold fingers. I have hunted two times with my bow now. I get very cold fingers from the aluminum riser.

My old bow had a wooden grip and then some rubber wrapped around it as well. I never noticed the cold with that setup like I do this one.

I cant find the rubber wrap we put on it and I don't think it would work with the focus grip. So what are you guys doing to keep your fingers warm while waiting for the shot?

I practice and hunt with gloves and I have never noticed the grip being cold. How do you feel about using gloves while hunting?

I wear a thin pair of gloves while hunting, I have found that heavy gloves really affect my feel with the bow grip. So hocky/ tennis tape is a rubber material. I always thought it was more like the stuff used to wrap around ankle injuries in sports.

This is the wrap. Very thin so it isn't bulky.

I usually don't wear any glove on my release hand. If I do it's a really thin one with both hands tucked into a handmuff with Hot Hands.

Just thin gloves. Here in Wisconsin you need to wear something on your hand.

Tape (black masking) a hot pack to the front of the riser at grip. It will not interfere with your grip when shooting and keep your fingers warm while just wearing a thin glove. Hunted in below 0 like this many times.

I take the grip off and wrap the riser with paracord. Works awesome for me.

Now that is something new I have not seen before. How do you keep it from un wrapping? or twisting around?

I always wear gloves for two reasons: camouflage because your hands move more than any other part of your body when hunting and because of the cold temperatures in the fall. On my release hand gloves I always cut the pointer finger and knuckle out of the glove so the bare skin is exposed. With the finger and knuckle cut out of the glove it doesn't interfere with my anchor points.

I do it like a serving and make it very tight with the wraps and put the tags on the front of the riser. Tight is the key. First one I did unraveled...

Do you have a picture on how you have it tied off?

I wear a thin glove on my left hand. My bow just hangs, don't hold it much.

I normally don't hold on to my bow as well. I have twice had does come in while hunting, I grabbed my bow, waiting for a shot and that's when my fingers were getting cold.

Any of you Mathews shooters use the Thermal Sheild ? just found this as well.

This was my second and tighter wrap. Only other pic I have. Bow is in the shop at the moment with a bottom cam lean issue... When I get it back I can take a better one.
