The taxidermist has me thinking of trying a wall pedestal mount for the first time. I am thinking about the Mckenzie 9800. Anyone else have any wall pedestal mounts and how do you like them?

I really like them, just never killed a buck big enough to warrant it. I feel like a wall pedestal is a great option for one that you know is gonna be your buck of a lifetime.

I'm totally in love with the wall pedestal mounts. I have several mounts so far but I'm saving these for 'the one' One of these days I'll get a buck nice enough to use.

That is a cool mount for the right deer that is for sure, heck i'm still waiting to get a wall mounter.

I feel the exact same way as Matt. I love them but it would take a giant for me to use one of these forms.

I like wall pedastals and used it twice. Trying to understand everyone's reason for only wanting to use this form on a once in a lifetime deer? If I get a once in a lifetime buck I'll probably use a true pedastal form, but I'll keep using the wall pedastal. I think it brings more size and life to the mount.

Because they are the baddest looking forms.... So I need the baddest buck to use it. 170-180" plus.

My 9800 is my favorite mount.. But I do agree it won't work on all bucks.

but.. As you asked.. I absolutely love mine.

keep in mind wall height.. My pedestal wall mount is like 49" tall.. On a typical 9 foot floor to ceiling room.. That's a lot of wall space.

I am not a fan and would stick with the traditional shoulder mount.

I think they look pretty good, but I prefer the regular shoulder mounts myself.

I love mine. Chose it because I wanted the mount to remind me of his last pose before I sent the arrow his way. He was chasing a doe away and I gave a mouth bleat. He stopped dead in his tracks and looked over his shoulder at me.

When I walked into the taxidermist's shop, I saw it on the wall right away and new that's what I wanted.

Personally I don't like them, to me they look like a side of beef with the head still attached. To each his own though.

I don't like them on a wall. A habitat pedestal base yes ...a wall ...not at all.
