The arrow weight thread got me thinking. Next season I want to use a different arrow setup that is lighter. I currently shoot a set up that weighs 594 grains. I know that this is perfectly fine but I would like to get it under 500 but still keep a decent foc. So, what are some lighter arrows?

Current spine is .260, 65 lbs, 32 inch arrow, 31.5 draw length, 100 grain tip with a 75 grain insert.

    Got you.

Your lucky to have that draw length..you can really get an arrow moving along...

Only if your not will to use a shorter arrow...and draw onto the shelf... This is what I would do.

My suggestion would be a full length GT velocity XT 300, I would use their standard insert and add 60grains to it with a fact weight to the insert and then add 100 grain Broadheads. You'd be looking at finished weight of about 450.
Plenty of FOC to it ..

Honestly if I had the shelf clearance and was comfortable ...I would shoot a shorter ( think stiffer) shaft.

For example I have a 28.5 draw length and shoot 26.75 or 27 in arrows.

I use slick tricks so they should fit on the shelf fine. Thanks for the info!

Buddy then I would change my suggestion .....

I would go with the one of two arrows... Cut them back as far as your comfort -able...say 30"

    First same arrow,
300xt 30" standard insert, plus 60 grains added to the insert with a fact weight. 100 grain slick trick
Total weight 435-440 ish with a lot of FOC....

    or

GT kinetics 300 30" with 50 grain brass hits, 100 slick tricks ... Total weight 480-490 ish

With the speed you have because of your draw length, I would go with the Kentics, smaller diameter ...hard hitting and they will still shoot pretty quick and flat. With plenty of FOC to boot.

Just make sure your using Brass HITS, they fit as the Kinetics are .204 ID ...the half out the come with them aren't strong enough or heavy enough.
    I always just install HITs
