Every year I write a little down about each hunt as far as weather and so on, but starting next year, I really want to go in depth so I can compare year to year. I know a lot of you guys are already do this.

Anyone have any examples to share on how they do this? Excel spreadsheets is how I do it now but I know I can expand on this.

I thought there was a thread on this already but cant seem to find anything.

I do not do this for hunting but I do for racing and how the car was each night it was raced (set up to performance).

But just a thought, what about a day planner?

I use a small diary and a map to log all my hunts. I don't necessarily have every sit recorded but I have enough information in my log and on my map to start viewing patterns and routes. I just really enjoy the map because it makes it easier to envision your notes.

I use an excel spreadsheet similar to Fitz's. If you would like, PM me your email, and I can send you the file to check out and/or modify to fit your needs. If you enter the data right, you can calculate a lot out in the end pretty easily.

Spreadsheet here...that way I can filter down by month, weather, winds, time, moon for similar future times and see what stands or spots have seen the most action with similar aspects.

To go along with this, what categories do you all keep track of?

    -Month
    -Time
-Moon illumination (from there I'll track if waning or waxing)
    -Rain/Snow/Dry
    -Temp
    -Wind
    -Travel direction
    -Estimated Age of deer
-Sex of deer (I only track doe daytime not night time....mature bucks I track every capture whether night or day)
    -Dark, Dusk, Dawn or Daytime
    -Name (if a named buck)
    -Property of occurrence

    I believe that is all.

Fitz, that looks pretty cool! Any chance you could share the excel doc without your data?
