Funny - they aren't the first to get busted for hunting/filming in Cook County Forest Preserves. Hunting illegally is one level of stupidity. Filming it and putting on TV is off the charts dumb.
Nope just another TV hunter that broadcast game law violations. Ted of course took it to jackass level and tried to spin it.
It takes some huge stones to hunt in Cook Co Forest Preserves. I'd imagine pretty easy to kill deer too, as they're used to people and never get hunted. Unreal
Crazy! I did my little show on the Hunt Channel this year. As I was preparing for it this past Spring, I asked the Hunt Channel if they could give me names of some of their shows/producers I could call to get some advice on preparing video for TV broadcast. Dave Brugger was one of them. He was happy to take my call. Sucks for those guys though. It's so stupid! If you have a show and are in the spotlight, you're going to get noticed! I have a team of hunters for my show. The first thing I talk to them about is walking the straight and narrow because once people find out you're involved in something like this, you have a target on your back. Just stupid!
Yes they showed their intelligence and character for sure. Makes me wonder how much did they get away with. Important thing is they got caught.Job well done by Illinois DNR.
Below is their statement from their Facebook page... "Above all, Wired Arrow would first like to make clear that while we are being charged by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, these accusations have not gone in front of a judge and/or jury. Whatever evidence that the IDNR has that led them to believe we are guiltily has yet to be shared with Wired Arrow. However, WA has provided numerous records that gave us the impression that we had a legal right to hunt each piece of property that we accessed. A lead investigator of the IDNR agreed that we acted in good faith, and were not aware of any wrong-doing at the time. He admitted that the majority of these charges were brought upon WA to please his higher ups. These charges came about after the IDNR spent months investigating Wired Arrow. A lead investigator admitted that these charges were "over the top" and agreed that the majority of these would not hold up in court. We ask that you not jump to any conclusions until these charges go through proper legal proceedings. We can assure you that we truly believed we had the right to be hunting where we were, and are confident that we can prove this in a court of law."
