Central Minnesota. I made it hunting 3 times. I tagged out November 5th took a real nice 8 point. I can only take 1 deer a year.
Southern Indiana. I've been several times and was able to take a nice 8 pt. on November 2. Have been a couple of times since and continue to see deer.
My lease owner has gone flakey and I have not hunted at all this year. Sucks bad. I need to find a new hunting area. This year is a bust for me. Worst part is I didn't find out until he was drunk and obnoxious that it was going away. Thanks after all the work I have put in on it. Funny thing is he wants me to cerakote about twenty guns for him after the season. Might be a high price tag if I'm even willing to do it at all.
SE Penna. I've killed one doe and allowed several other deer to go on with life. I gave a small 5pt a pass at 12yrds as well. Also saw the biggest buck I've ever seen in my woods, he was prolly 130"-135", but no shot opp. A decent season so far I guess.
I am in South Jersey and have been hunting hard since October 4th! Killed a doe on October 19th and has been super slow since!! I have seen a couple small bucks but no shooters! A have a few decent bucks on cam but they are all there at night. Bow season in my zone went out on November 22. This is the first time in ten years I didn't kill a buck in either October or November! Muzzle loader comes in on Monday here so I will get back at it then!!
I haven't killed a deer yet but its about the hunt not the harvest. I get out at least once a weekend and thats good enough for me.
October 5th, I shot a nice 9 point, then on my 20th wedding anniversery on November 16, I shot a really nice 8 point. No giants by any means, but these bucks are my first "real" bucks, so both are going up on the wall! Still have doe tags, another month of season to go, so its only gonna get better! Have fun, be safe and best of luck to everyone!!
Best season of my life so far... feeling truly blessed and quite lucky to have had the opportunities I have seen this year. I did spend tons of time running cameras on several prime pieces of property I was able to obtain permission on this year and trying to be efficient with my limited time I would be able to have on stand. I live close to the MA / NY line and not far from CT, so I have the privilege to hunt all 3 states. CT opens early (mid Sept), then NY (Oct 1), then MA (Oct 20). I was able to take 3 of the biggest deer I have ever shot "locally" this season. 2 in CT and one just this past Wed AM in MA. Plus a smaller buck in NY and a Doe in MA... In fact, I have only seen 4 bucks on stand... and coincidentally 3 of them were big deer for my area of hunting.
I have had an excellent season so far. Any year that I am able to be out in the woods is great. I set new goals and try to provide myself with new and harder challenges every year. I live and love to deer hunt and I feel truly blessed just being able to go and enjoy the great outdoors.
Northern panhandle of WV, so far it stinks. Missed the only deer that has come within bow range. Haven't seen as many deer as in years past.
Eastern Carolina is loaded with deer. So far nothing to brag about. Three down and cooling in the freezer.
POOR. Northern WI. I usually pass up 16-20 bucks each fall including several 3 & 4 year olds. This fall I have seen only 6 bucks and all spike/forks (1 1/2 yr olds). We had a terrible long and snowy winter last year. Deer numbers are way down.
Western Mass...Shot two bucks this year a decent 8 and a 4 pointer...hoping to fill my doe tag soon!!
I hunted mule deer in Nevada during the late archery season. Here's my http://forums.bowhunting.com/bowhunting-talk/68242-2014-season-review.html.
Fair- I have had some great enounters with good bucks just none in range. I have also passed up some younger smaller deer as well. Still a month left of hunting for me so that "Fair" rating could easily change.
Nebraska, Great season! Harvested a doe on film and my largest buck with a bow on film. Only bad part is the rifle hunters shot 85% of the bucks so now the buck to doe ratio is horrible and there won't be many bucks to hunt next year.
