I'm looking for a good quality compound bow with a maximum draw weight of at least 65lbs. So far Ive been checking out the diamond infinite edge black ops and the Bear Encounter. Are these good bows for deer hunting and just practicing if not, what else?

I have the Bear Encounter. I love it. Been using it for a couple of years now and have shot several deer with it. Every time i think about getting a new, higher end bow, I go back to the encounter and don't understand why I need another. I have been real happy with it.

My brother has the infinite edge and he likes it. I've shot it a few times and seems like a nice bow. Check out the mission bows they are pretty close to that price range and are nice bows.

Im using until the end of this year a PSE Stinge 3g. I maxed out the weight at about 63lbs i know just under the weight you were looking for but i love that bow as my first bow. Used it for 3 years and never had one problem with it. I say get a PSE.

I think I have a 28 inch draw and will probably be using it at 70 lbs, hows the velocity and accuracy?

I was checking out the infinite edge black ops and I think it's what I want most as of now, any mission bows in my price range you could recommend?

I haven't heard anything bad about any of the mission bows so I would say pick one that's in your price range and shoot it to see if you like it. My son has the craze and its been a great bow. We got it as a kit, came with rest, sight and quiver for about $350 if I remember right.

Sorry for the late response. Accuracy is great and same with velocity smooth draw. Not to heavy and quieter then some of the other starter bows that I've shot. Like bear and diamond. I recommend a PSE but I just upgraded to a hoyt. Like everyone on here will tell you. You have to shoot em to know what you like.

I have a mission venture. It's a great bow, very quiet and smooth. I'm shooting heavy arrows out of it but it's petty quiet anyways. Also my first bow. Definitely worth checking out at your local shop. Good luck!

I like my Bowtech Carbon Knight. Good price and it will kill just about anything. I'd say it's worth looking at and putting into your mix.

I started my son with the Diamond Edge, and we just got him an new PSE Vision, which he likes much better. He is shooting better with it too. I thing the Infinite Edge is a good choice, but so is the Vision.

I've read that it's not exactly an adult bow though, is it? I'm going to be using around 65-70 lbs and 28 in draw length.

The axle to axle on the Infinite Edge is 31 inches which is the same as both my Carbon Knight and Assassin. The draw length adjusts out to 29", but I think it maxes out at 60#. The Vision is a 33" axle to axle and draw length adjusts out to 30". I just bought one for spots.

I think my top 3 as of now are the Diamond IE, Bear attitude/Encounter, and pse stinger. Which has the highest velocity and K.E.?

The Infinite Edge goes from 13-30" draw and is adjustable up to 70# draw weight. IBO/ATA of 310fps

I don't hear any boosts for the PSE Surge. Great bow, beginner or not. Sunday morning I shot 30 arrows, 20 yds, for a 276 (out of 300) on AFA 20 yd target @ 63#, by far my best shooting. Doesn't mean much other than the bow will shoot, even for a beginner. And it is cheap. I gave a review here.
