Does the stratus jacket have a removable hood like the fanatic?

I hate a hood on my jacket and that's the first thing I remove if possible.

No, however it sits far back and is pretty much out-of-the-way a nonissueunless you're going to be layering that jacket under something else

I sometimes wear it and where my fanatic vest over top of it and that's a pretty nice set up down into the 30s

I put my harness under my jackets and hoods are pretty much useless anyway with the strap running out the top of my jacket. They're just in the way at that point.

Why don't they have any stocking dealers? The stuff is so damn expensive, but I'd probably own thousands of dollars of it if I could at least see it first. Even the big box stores like Cabela's won't stock the stuff.

From what I have seen is just doesn't sell in the box stores. Too expensive. Our gander has had some of the same pieces for years and even on clearance, they can't get rid of it.

Bass pro carries a few pieces but it's a hodge podge of items.

Oh, my shop was going to become a dealer and the minimum buy in order was so high he decided it wasn't worth his effort.

I believe it was $4000 and that was dealer cost, not msrp.

I hunted with my harness under my Stratus jacket this season (HSS Ultralite), and I didn't find it (the hood) too obtrusive. It really didn't get in the way. I agree, though, I would prefer it be removable as I don't use hoods when hunting.

Is your wife planning to go back into education (wasn't that the field she was in)? She would be eligible for 40% off through LEO Adventures then.

I wonder why they don't make a slot for the harness to go through so people can still use their hood? They are a high end piece of hunting clothing so it really makes since. I hate putting a harness over my jacket. They always seem to be in the way of the pockets and just don't fit like they should over a jacket.

Of course I'll buy this and next year they will do just that.

Yeah, this is the main reason I switched over to wearing underneath this year. Not sure why I waited so long :D

Of course, you're right about the improvement next year. That's the kind of luck I always seem to have as well.

I looked at the website.... they dont let you see anything you are signing up for. Do you have a membership or know someone who does? I am teacher and would certainly sign up for it if i knew i would be able to get decent deals on some stuff i may need.
