I was sitting in my stand this morning and my seat felt wobbly. I finally decided to stand and look at it and sure enough, there was a crack. I just started vacation and am going to be stuck with just my climber for mobile set up.
It won't help your currnet sitution, but I'll bet if you send that back to LW they'll replace it. That's the first time I've ever seen that. Are you over weight? lol
If it's just the seat maybe they can expedite a replacement to you to salvage the rest of your hunt. That's what I'd be asking anyways.
That was my thought as well. Call them and see if you can send them pics and get a replacement in the mail.
Luckily you caught it before anything bad happened. Stands should be frequently inspected for exactly this reason. I had the loop that the strap hooks into pull out on me before. The stand was about 22 feet up when that happened.
I was thinking the same thing at firs, but there was a lot of play where the back of the seat connects to the bar. I will talk to them and see what they say.
I've never seen one do that. Glad you're OK. This stand wasn't one of the versions during the years that LW had the casts made over seas was it? Just curious. I recall some people noting that the quality wasn't that great and I do believe LW found a couple of stands themselves that had weak spots in the cast because of air bubbles. Let us know how LW treats you here.
This should be an American made stand, I bought it in cabelas in 2009 I believe. Just left a message with them on the answering machine.
