Pennsylvania is 5th...but number 1 in hunter density. I can believe that.

If they would step in and implicate a better management strategy, it could be turned around fairly quickly. Look at the bear season, they ruined the bear population around my area and most likely many others.

Doesn't help that they are trying to slaughter the herd either. Hunter A can shoot 5..7.. 9.. whatever the heck it is nowadays with the more than generous tags being handed out and able to sign over.

For sure. I`m not sure what area that u are hunting, but where I am the buck to doe ratio is so out of whack. Most hunters shoot the first spike they see, and are not willing to take a doe. Going into hunting season there are many late fawns that could fit in your pocket, which ive seen a lot of those get shot too.

Maine is number four... "But its lowest-antlerless-deer-per-square-mile ranking (0.2), low average temperature (41 degrees),high annual snowfall (62 in), and large yearling buck harvest (54%) mean that it is perhaps to much of challenge for many." And they ain't kidding... it's doe after doe after doe after doe.

Pennsylvania at least has a point restriction. Has to be three high on one side, not including brows. It can be a pain, but it has helped the population.

You are more than welcome to come here and try and find them. We have as big of deer as there are in the country, but the terrain and deer per square mile make killing them harder than you would ever imagine.

I hate how cold winters are always blamed for the decimation of the wisconsin deer herd and not the past 15-20 years of terrible herd management.

If MI and WI are on that list MN belongs there too. Terrible herd management, terrible weather, and wolves lots and lots of wolves. MN hunters take lots of young bucks as well. There are no decent deer in MN
