Halloween has come and gone, next stop turkey day. I'm going to make it out this year as we're not doing festivities at my house luckily. Will be after shotgun season but those in the midwest and plains will be looking at a pretty potent storm system developing black Friday into the weekend. Thursday should have deer on their feet ahead of everything if earlier systems are to be used as comparison. Hard to say who will get the snow and who will get the rain but it should be a doozy of a storm for some of us. I doubt the weekend will be much worth hunting due to winds and such, so T'day is the only planned hunt.
Doubt it but I am seriously considering of heading over to Ohio very early to hunt all day Friday. I still have a tag to fill there on a buck. My wife says I don't need 3 deer in one year but 2 bucks would be pretty cool lol.
I plan on getting out in the Morning on T-day. We'll see what Friday brings as far as weather goes, but I'm pretty much planning to go all day Friday. This year I have all of Wed. off too so I will get a bonus day in the woods.
I hunt a mile from where we do Thanksgiving so I'll probably go out in the morning. Usually goose hunt Thanksgiving morning but that's over for the year.
My wife is going with my parents to Texas to visit my brother. I'll be in a tree to try and make thanksgiving great!
Yeah, I'll only be hunting until 10 or 11 depending on movement. Would take phenomenal movement to keep me in stand for any longer. With firearm season this weekend I know I'll still have a valid archery permit. Time will tell if it will still be good for a buck or not, can only take one more regardless of weapon.
That's very nice of you. I am sure you have made many soldiers happy. I would love to do that but nothing like that is around here.
If the weather cooperates, I'll be hunting in the morning. The remainder of the day will be enjoyed giving thanks with my family.
Hell yeah I hunt on Thanksgiving... it's valid excuse to avoid spending time with too many tired relatives with uncontrollable gas :-P
Absolutely! Thanksgiving is the opening day of duck season and a family tradition to hunt. We've been hunting on thanksgiving morning for as long as I can remember and I'm 43. Big family get together to hunt and a big family get together to eat. Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday of the year.
Hopefully just the morning, my wife has been real cool this season, so I dont wanna push it but we shall see!
