Well, I have been out of the tree for the last few days helping my mom deal with the loss of her husband of 23 years. He passed away last Thursday at the age of 90. He will be missed. I came to respect him greatly as an individual and for the life that he lived. He was a WWII vet of the Eighth Air Force and was a waist gunner in B-17's completing 30 missions and being shot down twice in the process. I could listen to him for hours talk about his experiences. He was also a retired engineer for GM and worked with the team that helped develop the air bags that are a standard safety feature in cars today. He was an honorable man that deeply loved his country and family and remained true to his values. The Air Force honor guard was there yesterday and it was a very touching and moving memorial to a true hero. I just thought I would share as a way to honor his memory.
I am sorry for your loss. Your step father sounded like a great man, you have my condolences. May God rest his sole, and from one service family member to another one, GOD BLESS. And may GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!
Saddened to read of your mom's (and your) loss. Sounds like he sure made a positive difference in the lives of others.
