Id make sure the guy got his deer, sure he didn't know much about property lines and all. But yes I would report the guide. They of all people should be respectful and not let things like that happen.

Call him or go to the guy's house, tell him to come over, tell him you found his deer and than tell him that he needs to respect your property lines and if something like this happens again you will call the sherif for trespassing on your land. That's not right he just walked on your land.

Give them the buck and tell them next time to notify you before they trespass, sounds like a hack guide

A good talking to the guide would be in order and returning the buck to the Hunter would be a nice thing ....I try to look for the bright spots...at least they were making a good effort to find the deer.

Me personally I would be a little irked that he didn't call me or let me know but I would be happy to give them there deer and congratulate them. I wouldn't report them. This is if they were unarmed. I would be a lot more upset if one was carrying a bow.

The guide gets trespassing charges and the hunter gets his deer. End of story for me.

What are your laws? In MN I'm pretty sure you can legally search for wounded game on other people's property (not posted) as long as you don't have a weapon and have to leave immediately after being told to leave. Obviously a normal, respectful person will call to get permission but legally they can look here.

id probably be pissed at the naibor guide he has no right to trepass and bring other people onto your property you should press charges next time and let the people no that are hunting with him that they could also be charged. maybe you charge the hunters a finders fee for finding there deer.

If you know they weren't trespassing when they were hunting, why all of the drama? Let him get the deer.

Just being honest here, if I gut shot a deer and it ran onto your property, I'm doing the same exact thing. That deer is now my responsibility, I'm going to get it.

If I ask your permission, and you say "No" then I've left a wounded animal in the woods because of my actions. If I don't ask you, I have a chance at recovering the animal, filling my freezer, and sleeping at night. I'm more than happy to tell you afterward.

If I have to pay a trespassing ticket, so be it, that's also my responsibility for putting a bad shot on the animal, but I have to exhaust all efforts to find it.

Yes, they probably did at least 10 things wrong after shooting the animal for it to travel a mile. But you've gotta give them credit for searching for 2 days. Most give up after a few hours.

IMO, if people weren't so crazy about this sort of thing, then people WOULD ask permission, but because people freak out for someone walking on their weeds, they don't ask.

Go ahead and flame away, but that's the truth, and I think plenty of other people would do the exact same thing.

Sorry but trespassing is never justified. You state exhaust all efforts.....how about you exhaust ALL LEGAL options first. Call owner, if they say no, call the DNR they can be persuasvie more than we can be...also know the laws in your states some people can't refuse others people can. But to disregard property lines all because "the deer is your responsibility" is a lame and terrible excuse.
